FARRIZ has spent a life-time writing serious stuff. Now devoting herself to the storytelling form, the former lawyer and journalist’s previous roles include spin-doctor, news anchor, talk-show host, issues manager, policy advisor, negotiator, and drafter and interpreter of legalese, although not exactly in that order. Her experience—like her writing— is varied: she worked in corporate turnaround, and also in sales on Edgware Road.
Besides also novels and memoir pieces in the works, she has a penchant for short stories of all lengths and brevities.
From living in Canada when she was little to growing up in Asia; studying in the UK; working in West Malaysia, Borneo, and across the Middle East; plus repeat assignments in The Caspian —exposure to different cultures in her day-to-day and wherever she goes, informs her work.
Some days, she fancies herself an essayist.
The love of trees is a constant.
